Wireless Printing with HP and Home Office Redesign with Dwell Studios

by sarah on April 26, 2013

Recently I was invited to an exclusive blogger event with my dear friend and adventure buddy, Debbie, held at the fashionable Dwell Studio in Soho, NYC where we learned new ways to make our home office fresh and organized.

HP sponsored the event and Dwell Studio Founder, Christiane Lemieux, gave us great advice on color, texture and style.

Everyone brought in pictures of their home offices, some simply corners of a room where a person had set up a small office space. We printed our various work spaces on the hp wireless printer there.

My home office is in our 4th bedroom where I have my computer on a leftover white table desk from my husband’s past stint working from home. What a mess I have let it become now that I work outside the home, in need of serious help! It’s my dumping ground when cleaning the rest of the house.

On the back wall of my home office are desks belonging to my daughters that were originally used for homeschooling for half a year much earlier in time. The desks are covered in everything from reading books to old school work and memorabilia. They block easy access to window and I would love to replace them with a couch and nice drapes on the window. A fresh paint job and fabric to cover my large bulletin board would really brighten up the place and make it less purely functional.

As you can see above, we made our design boards with pictures of  “before” and a sketch of “after” with samples of cloth and pictures of furniture also printed on the wireless printer. Some people copied new samples of fabric on the printer and Dwell Studios generously allowed us to cut samples from older swatches.

Love these pillows and color scheme. Very peaceful. I like the gray and tan. They inspired me with a starting point in the midst of a room of great ideas.

And, then there was this little baby the HP ENVY x2 Laptop pictured below, that I used at one point to look up design ideas and potential furniture samples. Love that little laptop. The top disconnects giving the device a light tablet feel. I might need one of those soon!

Here we are with all of our dream boards! What a great way to bring together all the elements of one’s design process.

And, of course, we loved walking through the very fashionable Soho afterward and sampling delicious rich hot chocolate at the chocolate store. What a fun day.

Here is Debbie’s new hp PhotoSmart 6520 set up in the office we share! I am still waiting for the right place to put mine – after I clean up and act on my new office redesign ideas!

{Disclosure: I received an hp PhotoSmart 6520 after the event for review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.}
